Drivers will be conscious that they are teaming up with cooperation minister Amit Shah’s pet project.

This marks a strong mid-year achievement and underlines the government’s push to strengthen the cooperative ecosphere across agriculture, allied and non-farm sectors.

By equipping cooperative members with structured training and exposure to international norms, the initiative empowers them to meet stringent global quality thresholds and certifications – a big leap from patchwork, localized interventions.

These schemes aim to support private companies, startups, and cooperatives in setting up and expanding infrastructure in the food processing industry.

He said that in their ambitious target to set up 2 lakh multipurpose cooperative societies in the country in 5 years, 35,395 new cooperative societies have been formed so far.

Kurian said in his reply that the integrated aquaparks act as hubs of multifarious fisheries to strengthen the aquaculture value chain by providing end to end infrastructure from seed, feed and farming support to processing, cold chain and market access.

The minister said that under the agriculture infrastructure fund, support is extended to cold storages in agri-export clusters, at farm gate level, for small and marginal farmers as well as big businesses, APMCs/mandis to reduce post-harvest losses and increase farmers' returns.

Launched in commemoration of the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives 2025, the ‘Seeding Strength’ campaign highlights the transformative role of agricultural cooperatives in India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, and Nepal.
