Pakistan has sentenced 108 members of former Prime Minister Imran Khan's party to prison over their alleged involvement in protests against the military in May 2023.

UNICEF also called for more humanitarian aid and commercial traffic to come in to stabilise the situation and reduce the desperation of the population.

According to the junta, the NDSC will now assume all legislative, executive, and judicial powers, as permitted under Article 427(a) of the 2008 Constitution.
