Small growers, who account for a significant share of India’s tea supply, saw their output drop from 78.34 million kilograms to 68.28 million kilograms over the same period.

Under the project’s terms, each investor is required to make a minimum capital investment of USD 5 million and deposit a USD 2 million bond with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka as a performance guarantee.

Women farmers were trained in better feeding, mineral mixes, housing, and preventive healthcare, along with support to access finance and markets. Gradually, goat mortality dropped from 53 percent in 2022 to just 9.6 percent in 2025.

These schemes aim to support private companies, startups, and cooperatives in setting up and expanding infrastructure in the food processing industry.

He said that in their ambitious target to set up 2 lakh multipurpose cooperative societies in the country in 5 years, 35,395 new cooperative societies have been formed so far.

Kurian said in his reply that the integrated aquaparks act as hubs of multifarious fisheries to strengthen the aquaculture value chain by providing end to end infrastructure from seed, feed and farming support to processing, cold chain and market access.

e-NAM enables farmers to directly sell their produce to buyers, by passing intermediaries, which ensures better pricing and increased transparency.
